The Bible Study App ยท Effective July 15, 2026

The short version: there are no accounts. Your study history lives only on your device. When you ask for a study or devotional, your question is sent to our server and processed by Anthropic's Claude to write the response. We identify your device with a random ID โ€” never your name, email, or Apple ID. We don't sell data, and we don't run ads.

What we collect and why

Your study questions and conversation. When you request a study, devotional, or follow-up, the text you enter (and the conversation thread it belongs to) is sent to our server, which passes it to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the response. Per Anthropic's API terms, this data is not used to train their models. We do not permanently store the content of your studies on our server.

A random device identifier. Your device generates a random ID on first launch. It accompanies requests so we can count free-trial studies, apply fair-use rate limits, and check subscription status. It is not derived from and cannot be linked to your name, email, phone number, or Apple ID by us.

Purchase status. Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to know whether your device's random ID has an active subscription. We never see your payment details.

What stays on your device

Your study history, saved conversations, settings, and translation preferences are stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes them.

What we don't do

No selling or sharing of personal data. No advertising or ad tracking. No third-party analytics SDKs. No profiles. If any of this ever changes, this policy will change first and the app will say so plainly.

AI processing consent

The app asks for your consent before your first study, and you can withdraw it anytime in Settings โ†’ Privacy. With consent off, no text leaves your device and new studies are paused.

Data retention

Trial counts and subscription status tied to the random device ID are kept for as long as needed to operate the service. You can request deletion of server-side records for your device ID by emailing us.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

We'll post any changes here with a new effective date. Meaningful changes will be noted in the app.
